Description
The Commune is a testament to the looming end of family, community, and an entire era in Danish history. Renowned Danish filmmaker Thomas Vinterberg (The Hunt, Festen) set his partially autobiographical film The Commune in the mid-1970s, in a suburb of Copenhagen, where a group of friends moves into a picturesque villa. The film's protagonists are Erik (Ulrich Thomsen), Anna (Trine Dyrnholm), and their daughter Freja (Martha Sofie Wallstrøm Hansen), who begin to realize their dream of an authentic commune full of mutuality and joy. However, the idea of a loving and familial community under Erik's roof starts to crumble when his mistress moves in. Will the ideal survive the clash with reality? Is the commune more than just a family?
