Description
In his 1654 work, Jan Amos Komenský searches for the causes of national shortcomings and looks for remedies for ignorance, laziness, violence, oppression and the absence of freedom. His timeless, practically useful advice offers ideas for how a nation can flourish and live in freedom, security and sustainable happiness. Fragments of this still relevant text are read in Czech by Alfred Strejček, whose name has been inseparably associated with Komenský for many years. Together with composer Štěpán Rak, he toured 33 countries across four continents with the Vivat Comenius programme. The foreword and afterword are written and performed by Markéta Pánková, emeritus director of the National Pedagogical Museum and Library of J. A. Komenský.
