The Tebenas publishing house, in collaboration with Igor Bareš, continues to compile the works of the legendary Czech screenwriter and writer Vladimír Körner. Following The End of Solitude Berhof, Life for a Signature, and Dog Skin, they present the fourth work - the author's debut, Shards in the Grass. It was first published in 1964 and its plot is partly based on the screenplay for the film Ticket Without Return, which was directed by Dušan Klein in the same year, starring Jiřina Šejbalová. It is the end of World War II. Survivors begin to search for their loved ones. A mother manages to trace her daughter, taken by the Nazis to Germany for re-education. A happy ending? Not all injustices and wrongs can be atoned for, not all shards can be glued back together. Even though the relationship between mother and daughter seems fine on the surface, inside everything is boiling and heading towards an unstoppable breakdown of mutual feelings and communication. The recording, directed by Roman Štolpa, features music and the final song Back by multi-instrumentalist Raven.
