Přítelkyně paní Maigretové - CDmp3 (Čte Jan Vlasák)

This Czech-language MP3 audiobook presents a case in which Commissioner Maigret’s wife plays a decisive role. After an anonymous letter, the Paris police search the bookbinder Steuvelse’s house on Rue de Turenne. That same evening, Maigret arrests him when two human teeth are found in a radiator in his workshop. The suspect denies any wrongdoing despite several incriminating clues, including the disappearance of a mysterious suitcase and bloodstained clothing. Three weeks later, Mrs Maigret visits her dentist. While waiting on a park bench, she meets a young woman and her two-year-old son, Karlík, as she regularly does. On this particular day, the woman entrusts her child to Mrs Maigret “for a minute”, but returns two hours later by taxi, takes the child back and offers no explanation. When Maigret begins investigating, it becomes clear that the two incidents may be connected. The story was adapted for British television in 1962 as White Hat, directed by Andrew Osborn and starring Rupert Davies as Inspector Maigret. Marcel Cravenn directed a French television adaptation in 1977, Maigret and the Headless Body, with Jean Richard as Maigret and Annick Tanguy as Mrs Maigret. The recording lasts 5 hours and 7 minutes.
