This Czech-language science-fiction audiobook takes the castaways from the mining ship Red Dwarf into the last alternative world prepared for them by their wayward co-author. After death, duplication and other troubles David Lister has already faced bravely, he must confront a final test in spacetime. Rimmer, Kryten and Cat are due to meet him at a kiosk near Niagara Falls, but on this version of Earth everything runs backwards, and they arrive with acceleration, unable to believe what they see. The Berlin Wall reassembles itself into bricks before their eyes, Poland liberates Hitler, and the police pursue Lister, who has been arrested for murder, all the way to the farm where the crime was committed. There, some yokels have dismantled and hidden the Kosmik module, only to track it down by complete accident. The complications caused by this inverted reality grow more extreme as the hero becomes younger and younger, eventually reaching puberty, while the author explores the philosophical idea that a person is merely space dust carried along by the sum of their decisions. Who has made such an astrophysical mess? It cannot all be blamed on Holly’s computer dementia, especially since Rimmer’s better self has also risen from the dead. The boys from Red Dwarf have reached the end, but that does not mean the story is over: in this science-fiction western, every consequence is followed by its cause.
