Hořící kříž - 5 CDmp3 (Čte Jitka Ježková)

This Czech-language audiobook, read by Jitka Ježková, follows Jamie Fraser and his wife Claire in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina in 1771. Family and friends gather at the Fraser homestead to celebrate their daughter Brianna’s wedding, hoping they have finally found a safe home. But peace is as temporary as the storm. Tension is growing between the corrupt colonial government and the backcountry settlers, drawing Jamie, a Scottish immigrant who has secured rights to a coveted piece of land, into the conflict as he and his fellow countrymen try to build a new community. The governor, representing the Crown, has a dangerous advantage over the Highlander. Claire, an educated healer with the ability to see into the future, remains Jamie’s support. As a local physician and herbalist, she witnesses the strange death of an enslaved Black woman and begins a risky investigation involving an illegal autopsy, suspecting that the servant was murdered. While the community struggles to survive, the country heads towards a war that will change the face of the continent and the course of history. This is the fifth installment of the Outlander series.
