Even the police in the forest of talking animals are supposed to help and protect, but they are as riddled with wood rot as anywhere else. Their eager cadets Hare and Otter, in their desire for sergeant stripes, do whatever their commander wishes, yet Lieutenant Bachyně is wallowing in her office. She acts entirely on her own terms – and ever since her husband Kňour disappeared, she's been a bit of a pig. Meanwhile, diligent sniffing is desperately needed! Not only is someone stealing the communal supplies, but the heir to the throne, Koloušek, who was supposed to lead the local monarchy and continue the traditions of the ruling Deer family, is missing. This is strongly against the wishes of a certain large animal, escalating the drama. What role will a camera trap, a creature with double tracks, and conscientious embezzlement play in it? Just wait, Hare! And watch your fur, Otter!
The second trip into the treacherous forest is set in the times before the birth of detective Mole. Even back then, they would have appreciated Bruce Willis's intervention!
