Description
A Czech-language audiobook featuring the seventh story in the series about aristocrat Marie III Kostková of Kostka. The tale begins in early summer 1983, when the castle is still held by the Communists, and follows the young castellan Josef, the cook and cleaner Mrs Tichá, the soldier Pavel Krása, known as gardener Mr Spock, and other memorable characters amid the grey reality of state socialism. Their world is enlivened by resourceful regime officials, fashion designer Mišel, hairdresser and occasional male escort Niki, and preparations for a turning point in Helenka Vondráčková’s life that will also become “the greatest historical event of the twentieth century”. Marie III. comments on the lives of the inhabitants of the stolen estate during their younger years, with the comic force associated with Evžen Boček since 2012.
