Upon closer inspection, the children actually stumble upon tracks, a station, and old carts, but they are so abandoned that it seems no one has used them for a hundred years. And something else surprises them, or rather someone: an old guard with a wooden leg and enormous hands. At first, he tells them something about haunted trains arriving without a conductor, but then, all upset, he chases the Famous Five away.
