The foundling, taken in by the domineering witch Blbule and the timid owl Blboul in the fairytale land of Krachles, is actually a truly wicked little rascal. The local ghosts have been terrified since his cradle, as the confused forest registrar mangled his name in the spirit of voodoo - so it sticks with the dark-eyed boy as a "nomen omen," causing all the deer to be completely spooked. Destiny forces Vúdúlínka to torment his neighbors, even though he doesn't want to, leading to wolves losing their teeth, fish flying above the surface, and horseradish wilting as soon as they see him. Evil is a remarkable little rascal. It is born quietly like a fart and grows in proportion to how much it excludes its bearer from decent society. Shouldn't this outcast then let the world properly devour him and become a scoundrel who ultimately frightens even himself?
