Description
Mommy wasn't always enchanted. She used to be the most wonderful mom in the world... It's a mess and an injustice. Ten-year-old schoolgirl Julie understands these words, yet she is still terrified of why her alcoholic mother refused to see her and her little sister after the family breakdown. The two girls moved from Prague to the village of Horní Zhoř, where they are not only getting used to their dad's new partner and her sons but are also fundamentally building relationships in a small school that is so different from urban conditions. Julie understands a lot around her, but she still needs to figure out the meanings of concepts like execution, sex, disability, or self-denial. Not to mention the situations where adults admonish her with strict words while behaving exactly the opposite. It's all so terribly enchanted, yet in the disarming inner monologue of the girl protagonist, there is room for humor and an immense desire for harmony. Julie does not intend to be a loser, because she has already received a second chance in life and valuable advice: run at least half the way to meet happiness! The new edition of the successful children's book, for which the sought-after Czech novelist received the Golden Ribbon in 2014, is expanded with more of the girl's adventures. Duration of the recording: 3 hours 37 minutes.
