Description
In war, the enemy is easily recognized, but at home, it can be anyone... The widowed Czech pilot and war hero Antonín Maděra, who returns home in RAF uniform with the rank of lieutenant colonel, faces his toughest trials yet. By the hand of fate, he becomes the manager of an estate in the Czech-German border region, from which the German population was expelled shortly before, and where now a multitude of dubious characters and ruthless gold diggers are gathering. A lover of horses and one of the few returning natives must deal not only with a gang of young men raised on pulp novels who play cowboys but also with the schemes of numerous envious individuals, war criminals, and new power brokers. And amidst all this, he must also revive the ravaged estate, which yields nothing and where everything is in short supply, even ordinary water...
