Description
Maigret had no idea that what was just beginning to be discussed here would soon lead him to close a case that would henceforth be called "the longest Maigret case" on the banks of the Goldsmiths. The Paris criminal police are once again on high alert. There has been another robbery at a jewelry store, but this time a regular police officer lost his life during it. Hardly had Maigret proven his innocence in a case of false accusation when he continued investigating a series of thefts. All clues lead to Manuel Palmarimi, but he is soon murdered. Who could have an interest in silencing the mortally ill gangster? And where to start the search? Maigret doesn't go far and begins questioning witnesses right in the house where Palmari lived. His instinct does not fail him this time either. The story loosely follows the audiobook Maigret Stands His Ground.
