And one by one, they also tell about Maria, their mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who, as an archetypal feminine deity, nurtures and spreads that strength. Through her heroines, the author has constructed a story of one family in a firm yet fragile, transparent and melodic style, very simple despite tragic circumstances, very ordinary despite great history, and very strong despite its commonality.
