Description

Renée appears to be a typical aging, boring, limited, widowed housekeeper. She is in charge of house number 7 on Grenelle Street, divided into eight very luxurious apartments, complete with a courtyard and garden. However, no one suspects that she is more cultured and educated than all the wealthy residents of the opulent tenement she manages. Secretly, she delves into all corners of philosophy and indulges in demanding literature. Her clandestine intellectual pursuits are revealed by the prematurely mature twelve-year-old Paloma, who lives in one of the apartments and, due to the absurdity of life, is determined to commit suicide on the day of her thirteenth birthday.
