Sonny Lofthus was a beloved, exemplary student and a talented wrestler who looked up to his father. He once wanted to become a police officer like him. The feeling of betrayal could only be soothed for the young man by heroin, to which he has been addicted for twelve years now. Currently, he "resides" in the heavily guarded Staten prison, where he was thrown for the crimes of others. In exchange for a regular supply of drugs, he confesses to anything. He serves as a confessor to other inmates – listening to their confessions and granting them absolution. However, one day someone comes to him for forgiveness who reveals that the circumstances of his father's death were a bit different.
