Description
After Commissioner Kurt Wallander killed a man in the line of duty, he falls into an existential crisis, drowning in depression and uncontrollably succumbing to alcohol. Eventually, he decides to leave the police for good. He even refuses an old friend who asks for help in investigating the suspicious death of his father. However, when the same old acquaintance is soon found dead as well, Wallander returns to work to clarify the case of the double murder. Gradually, he uncovers a complex web of fraud, and behind it all, he senses a mysterious eternally smiling face hiding the darkness of a manipulator pulling the strings.
