The Lord of the Rings: Journeys in Middle-earth is a cooperative game for one to five players. During the game, a group of heroes embarks on dangerous adventures to explore and survive together in the vast epic fantasy world of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. On their journey, they will face powerful foes, discover lost treasures, uncover long-forgotten knowledge, and tailor their skills according to their roles in the Fellowship. Darkness rises, evil strengthens, and shadow and corruption spread. It is high time for the heroes to set out on their journey through Middle-earth. Each game of The Lord of the Rings: Journeys in Middle-earth represents one adventure of a larger campaign. During each adventure, the heroes attempt to complete a series of tasks before they are overwhelmed by the evil spreading across Middle-earth. The heroes progress through the campaign regardless of the outcomes of individual adventures. Ultimately, after completing a series of adventures, the campaign reaches its conclusion, which ends either in success or failure for the entire party of heroes.
