Singer-songwriter and musician Filip Pýcha presents a new folk-punk album with nine songs that balance humor and melancholy, everyday banality and major existential questions. Je později, než si myslíš suggests the album’s central mood: time passes, things change, and we often notice too late. Pýcha writes about a world he knows at close range, about Prague, to which one returns like to an old love, carnival celebrations concealing transience, and creative crisis resembling a power cut. The lyrics combine precision and lightness, while Martin Kyšperský’s production gives the songs room to breathe. Acoustic instruments, double bass, saxophone, balalaika, and glockenspiel create a distinctive sound world outside current trends. The album opens with an ironic miniature about artificial intelligence and closes with a story about cliffs, fog, and responsibility for what we cannot influence. Between these poles unfold the stories of wedding guests, insomniacs, seekers of flying carpets, and street prophets.
