Jan Běťák is one of the representatives of contemporary songwriting, a lyricist, an acclaimed songwriter and composer, and a laureate of the Za krásu slova award. His debut, Napodobování písma, was nominated for the annual Anděl awards in the folk category. His new solo album, Jazykem květin, features thirteen new songs that transcend genre boundaries, combining folk with elements of world music, jazz, and classical music. It is music for open ears and hearts.
