The Locked Gate is not only the sixth solo album by singer and guitarist Josef Lábus, but also an intriguing debut born from his collaboration with the Trutnov String Quartet TrutnoForte. In Lábus's lyrics, as usual, mythical figures from times when 'they still had names for everything that remained only carved in stone' stroll through. The new album invites listeners to enter a world where 'time wades through an underground river,' and 'when the air sparkles there in the branches, the raven's laughter rings through the ruins of castles.' This extraordinary musical ensemble offers eleven original songs and one German folk song in rich arrangements by violinist Martina Skučková on their first album.
