Description
For the second joint album of the Lonely Songwriters, Happy and Lonely, Jan Jeřábek selected fifteen songs with a Christmas theme, and the "loneliness" in the title underscored the album's relevance. The record was created during a time when everything is different, and Christmas 2020 will hopefully be remembered as the "different" one, the more spiritual one. The association of Lonely Songwriters includes several dozen musicians and lyricists who strive to honor their inner craft in a time that often prefers a more consumable type of music, sounds, and words, often merely filling the space between advertisements and news. The "Lonely" continue the best traditions of the songwriter association Šafrán, which was initiated by Jaroslav Hutka in a different time and under different conditions. All the tracks on this CD testify to what primarily connects the past and present: the joy of song, play, and sung words.
