Description
Following the political album Sto let, Jaroslav Hutka records an album of lyrical songs, many inspired by his stays in India. Skleněný den in some respects continues the album V rozpitých barvách and is again filled with Hutka’s characteristic verbal imagery, transformed by arranger Petr Přibyl into a monumental sound gallery. Hutka unusually sets aside his guitar and sings only, while musicians from the National Theatre orchestra in Prague colour and enrich the songs with a different, deeper meaning. Their playing makes the lyrical images more comprehensible and carries them from the traditions of Czech folk singer-songwriting towards the world of classical music. The 49-minute recording features artwork by František Štorm.
