Description
The legendary memories of Jaroslav Seifert, "All the Beauties of the World," are a beautiful excursion into half a century of Czech poetry. The author completed his memoirs at a time when he had long been out of favor with the communist authorities. For this reason, only a few brave visitors to the apartment theater of Vlasta Chramostová, who was also among the undesirable citizens of then Czechoslovakia, could become acquainted with them for the very first time. Part of the author's reading of Seifert's memoirs was recorded by Vladimír Merta in 1978, and he managed to persuade the poet himself to personally introduce the recording. In 1979, the recording was released on a long-playing record by the exile publisher Šafrán '78, and now - after nearly forty years - it is also being released for the first time at home on CD. 1. Introduction (read by Jaroslav Seifert) * 2. Eos, Goddess of the Morning Twilight * 3. "Enough of Wolkr!" * 4. Smíchov Dance Macabre * 5. At the Grave of Rabbi Löw * 6. Kitchen Clock
