Description
A compilation of two concerts by the significant Czech singer-songwriter presents Petr Lutka in his strongest form. The former member of the Šafrán association performed a selection of his most proven repertoire at two concerts in Malostranská beseda in November 1979 and March 1980, ranging from the clapped songs of Jiří Zycha to his own versions of songs by Georges Brassens, Bulat Okudzhava, Jaroslav Hutka, and Marek Grechuta, culminating in his song based on a text by Morgenstern. The program also includes the building song "Jde Frantík kolem zahrádky" and "Sibylla," a reminiscence of his own rock'n'roll beginnings. A contemporary text by Jiří Černý recalls the still underappreciated role of Petr Lutka and the songs of Jiří Zycha, without whose tunes the folk "fairy tales without Kasparks would have become heavy into clanging, shiny, boring rhythms."
