Capricornus - CD

The reissue of Luboš Andršt's first solo album from 1980 represents the author's purely studio jazz project, full of melancholic and contemplative moods. At the time of recording the album, Andršt already had fifteen years of experience playing in the rock band Framus Five, jazz-rock groups Jazz Q and Energit, as well as in an acoustic duo with Emil Viklický or Zdeněk Hrášek. Although by 1980 he was already performing with his own band, Luboš Andršt Blues Band, for the recording of the LP Capricornus he assembled a one-time studio group, inviting four musicians: rock musicians Jan Hrubý and Jiří Veselý, jazz pianist Gabriel Jonáš, and versatile drummer Alan Vitouš. The jazz-rock synthesis from the Smetana Theatre, which was successfully transferred to this recording, can thus be heard by listeners for the first time on CD and in its entirety more than thirty-five years after its recording.
