Description
The paper model in a scale of 1:300 ------------------ The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Most is a late Gothic temple that was built between 1517 and 1550 after a fire in the city. It gained fame primarily in 1975 when it was moved on rails for 841 meters to be saved from a city that was razed to the ground due to coal mining. It is recorded in the Guinness Book of Records as the transportation of the heaviest object on rails. The church is located in the northern part of the city behind the Most Corridor, about 1 km west of the train station. It is owned by the state (managed by the National Heritage Institute) and is open to the public. The church became a national cultural monument on February 8, 2010.
