Description
Twenty tales of the inhabitants of equatorial Africa as the author of the book heard them on his travels. In 1992, we recorded 5 stories from this book collection with interpreter Lukáš Hlavica under the title African Myths. After more than thirty years, we decided this year to complete all the stories from the book The Jungle of Magical Dreams so that the work is fully available for listening. Alongside Lukáš Hlavica, interpreters Jaroslav Plesl and Saša Rašilov joined. The tales come from a region located south of the equator. The area is called Sankuru. The traveler and writer who collected and retold them, L.M. Pařízek, states in the preface to the book edition: "In this land, full of mysteries, I listened to tales told by old sorcerers, which, although narrated in a foreign and wild tongue, seemed so familiar. They were what taught me to know the people of black faces, whose thoughts are as pure as their land."
