Description
Bohumil Hrabal (March 28, 1914 – February 3, 1997) – a genius of Czech short prose, who would have turned 100 this year. Enfant terrible – adored and hated, often misunderstood. We have prepared a reading of four stories from the book Pábitelé, which truly made the author famous. However, that was not the real reason we chose them. The stories from Pábitelé have a distinct plotline, dramatic elements, and they contain humor, exaggeration, perspective, melancholy, gloom, sentiment, romance, and poetics, as well as naturalism, all in one bundle. Above all, they are always a celebration of humanity, a sacrament of life! To start, we selected a definition of pábitelé in the words of Bohumil Hrabal. The individual stories are separated by quotes from the morytáty of readers (from the book Morytáty a legendy), and the conclusion consists of an excerpt from the story Kouzelná flétna (from the book Listopadový uragán). We present to you an almost portrait-like 'Hrabal audiobook'.
