"The film 'I'm Still Alive.' is a contemporary, appropriately dry, slightly absurd tragicomedy about a medium-sized Czech train station in the summer," says the film's producer Jiří Konečný. The characters in the film are railway workers who are trying, or rather attempting, in a very humorous exaggeration, to resolve their small "interpersonal issues" against the backdrop of the disappearing genius loci of the place they are set in. "The film aims to portray real people, not dramatic characters pulled out of thin air," says director Pavel Göbl. Alongside the well-known Jaroslav Dušek, actors Igor Chmela, Roman Slovák, Slovak Petra Beoková, and Pole Riszard Doliński appear, along with excellent non-actors Jiří Vymětal and Slovak Jozef Polievka.
