Description
This family film follows the Newton family and their Saint Bernard, Beethoven. While father George struggles with his small air-freshener factory, his fifteen-year-old daughter Ryce falls in love with Taylor. Beethoven meets a female dog named Missy in the park, unaware that she is caught up in the bitter divorce dispute between her owner, Brill, and his unpleasant wife Regina. Ten weeks later, Missy has four puppies, but they are soon in danger when Regina discovers what has happened. Twelve-year-old Ted and his little sister Emily find the puppies in time and hide them safely in the attic, keeping their secret from their father. When George decides that the family will spend four days in the mountains, the children manage to persuade him to take the whole pack along. There, Ryce meets a friendly rocker named Seth and, with Beethoven’s help, resists Taylor’s advances. Meanwhile, Regina keeps Missy prisoner in a cabin across the mountain lake and kidnaps the puppies, intending to sell them. The Newtons refuse to give up, and a decisive confrontation soon follows.
