Description
The Žižkov barber Mr. Šuplátka has trouble with an inheritance waiting for him in distant Warsaw. Anticipating great wealth, he sets off to Warsaw to claim it in person. However, he is very disappointed when he finds only twelve chairs and a portrait of his aunt waiting for him. Yet, a treasure is said to be hidden somewhere. This successful Czech-Polish project was directed by Martin Frič based on the well-known work of Russian satirists Ilf and Petrov, and the film benefits from the contrasting comedy of its main protagonists, the exuberantly outspoken Vlasta Burian and the polished elegant Adolf Dymsza.
