Description
An Interview with a Cult Member is the fourth book by Mária Modrovich, a younger generation Slovak prose writer. She studied marketing communications and German studies in Bratislava, lived in the USA for several years, and sent essays reflecting life there, particularly in New York. She made her prose debut with a collection of stories Lu&Mira, and for her third book Flashback, which deals with motherhood, she was nominated for the Anasoft Litera and the European Prize for Literature. The currently presented title is a fictional interview between a young journalist and members of a secret, explicitly female natural community. It attempts to uncover why women left their families and comfortable city lives for existence in forest isolation.
