Description
This plastic European red deer figurine is based on a large even-toed hoofed mammal from the deer family. European red deer are herbivorous ruminants whose diet changes with the seasons. The male proudly carries a crown of antlers, bellows to begin a fight, and cares for his calves. Mature antlers can reach 120 cm in length, weigh up to 8 kg, and end in a crown. Males can grow up to 150 cm at the withers and weigh as much as 240 kg. European red deer live around 10–13 years in the wild and may live for more than 20 years in captivity. Adult deer currently have few natural predators apart from humans, with wolves posing the greatest threat.
