Less than two years after their debut, Agatha Christie published the novel The Mysterious Affair, in which she expanded the gallery of unmistakable characters, enriching the genre of detective literature with an inseparable married couple – Tommy and Tuppence Beresford. It was 1922, and both heroes were approaching the age of the young author. She returned to their colorful stories with long breaks until 1973. In four novels and a collection of short stories, the thoughtful Tommy and the sharp and spirited Tuppence solve cases that are not only purely criminal in nature but also get entangled in the webs of intelligence services and international crime.
