"The music of Antonín Dvořák is a family treasure for a Czech cellist that must not be overlooked. During our student years, Michal Macourek and I studied and played Rondo, Klid, and Polonéza many times. Two pieces by Klement Slavický were discovered for me by Barbora Sejáková, a wonderful pianist who is an enthusiastic interpreter and promoter of Slavický's music. In the Ballad, the author connects with his teacher Josef Suk, while the virtuosic Burlesque is a brilliant example of the composer's refined compositional work.
