Snow and Stars - CD

One of the most prominent Czech flutists of today, Jana Jarkovská, is releasing her third CD in collaboration with Czech Radio and Radioservis. The album titled Sylvie Bodorová Snow and Stars is dedicated exclusively to the works of this well-known Czech composer. It includes pieces created between 1976 and 2017, thereby mapping the compositional development of Sylvie Bodorová and the changes in her approach to the central duo of instruments, which are the flute and piano. The main protagonists of the album, flutist Jana Jarkovská and pianist Bohumír Stehlík, have formed the internationally successful Duo du Reve since 2011. This duo is complemented in some pieces by violinist Markéta Janoušková, cellist Judita Škodová, oboist Jarmila Jermářová, clarinetist Jana Černohouzová, bassoonist Denisa Beňovská, and horn player Barbora Šimůnková. The recording was made at Czech Radio in November 2020 and January 2021, and the CD release was supported by the State Fund for Culture of the Czech Republic and the OSA Partnership.
