Fragility, delicacy, or vulnerability are phenomena that Štochl conveys in a truly exceptional way. However, it must be added that the author is just as adept at cutting directly "to the quick" and stimulating thoughts that lead beyond our comfort zone. Both aspects are contributed to by non-musical contexts. We will not find programmatic compositions in the true sense of the word, but certain themes play an absolutely indispensable role in his (artistic) life.
