To this day, her nobility and aristocratic spirit, as well as the strength of her personality, are spoken of. Is there anything new, deeper, and more interesting to say about Olga Havlová? This biography attempts to do just that, based on dozens of interviews with her closest friends, family members, childhood and youth friends, prominent and ordinary signatories of the Charter, and collaborators from the Castle or the Good Will Committee. The author presents a wealth of previously unknown information about Olga Havlová's private life and characterizes her as a woman whose fundamental traits have always included practicality, responsibility, and firmness in her opinions. A significant part of the book also deals with her role as the First Lady, but the author primarily aims to move beyond the realm of officialdom and traditional myths to capture the openness and specificity of her life's drama.
