With My Own Voice _ works by contemporary Czech female composers for solo flute. The solo flute is the medium of expression closest to my heart. In the works of composers, it often occupies a special place, and writing a good piece for it is not an easy task. In the case of works by female composers, I perceive the voice of the solo flute as even more urgent; the flute – feminine in Czech – speaks with the voice of their soul. From the works of contemporary Czech female authors, I have selected solo flute pieces that resonated with me. They are impressive, profound, often dramatic compositions. I would like this recording to showcase the works of female composers as a completely distinct artistic domain bringing new values into the predominantly male musical world and to present the solo flute as an instrument with many often yet undiscovered possibilities.
