The final episodes of the beloved series of programs by Czech Radio since 1995, directed by Jaromír Ostrý. "People love stories. They may not be groundbreaking or world-changing in themselves, but they fit together like colorful pebbles in a large mosaic of history. If they weren't embedded in that mosaic, something would be missing; there would simply be an empty space. Listeners have probably adopted this program; it has been their 'Toulky,' whether it served only them or their family members, or entire classes in elementary schools and high schools, and thanks to the internet, in distant parts of the world, not just with neighbors—those who understand Czech—but also with our compatriots in Canada, the United States, New Zealand, Thailand, and who knows where else. Very often, from all those distances, a single word echoed—'homeland.' A word that we at home have almost forgotten. This series concludes with these 'Toulky' through Czech history. After 23 and a half years, we say goodbye. During that time, we have broadcasted 30,450 minutes, which amounts to 507 hours, and that's more than three weeks if we wanted to listen to all the episodes continuously.
