Description

Otakar Brousek, Vilém Besser, Ludmila Roubíková, Pavel Soukup, Čestmír Řanda, Jiří Hromada, Václav Kaňkovský. The novel by a classic of Czech literature depicts the dramatic changes in conditions on the Czech-Bavarian border in the last quarter of the 19th century, when the established order of life in the 'world of forest hermitages' was disrupted by a natural disaster. The dramatized reading in installments features Otakar Brousek, Vilém Besser, Čestmír Řanda, Gabriela Vránová, Miriam Kantorková, and others. In 1983, director Jana Bezdíčková filmed it. Karel Klostermann (1848 - 1923) was born in Upper Austria's Haag, but both of his parents came from Šumava. The writer dedicated practically his entire work to this region. The trio of novels 'From the World of Forest Hermitages', 'In the Paradise of Šumava', and 'Where the Children Are Going' achieved the greatest readership success, forming a loose trilogy. Other novels, such as 'The Glassmakers' and 'Fogs on the Marshes', also gained considerable popularity. Duration: 5 hours 44 minutes 12 seconds.
