Description
The inspiration for the oratorio by Jan Zástěra, NÁDECH VĚČNOSTI, was the 1100th anniversary of the martyrdom of Czech princess Ludmila, the first Slavic saint, who was murdered in 921. The idea for the new work and its execution was expressed by opera singer and actress Soňa Červená, who promoted it through her Foundation and her personal participation in the first three performances in Prague, Litomyšl, and Rome, always with the organizational and patronage support of the Bohemian Heritage Fund. The basis for the libretto was outlined by Jan Matoušek, with contributions from Matouš Pavlis, Martin Budek, and Daniel Burda, but the resulting arch of the full-length work, the poetic completion of the verses, and the entire musical form are the work of composer Jan Zástěra. ***** In the main melodramatic role is Ms. Soňa Červená, who embodies the priestess Ludmila. ***** CAST: Soňa Červená / Ludmila, Lucie Hájková / Drahomíra, Petr Nekoranec / Václav, Jiří Brückler / Boleslav, Lukáš Bařák / Jarmil.
