Sir Mark Elder: Puccini /Le Willis CD

The Opera Rara label brings to the Czech market, in exclusive distribution with Warner Music, a recording of Puccini's operatic debut Le Willis (the more accurate titles are either "Le Villi" in the Italian original or "The Willis" in the English translation). The first version from 1884 was revised and expanded by the author at the request of the publisher (1885), and the final version of the work dates from 1889. This version also served as the basis for a new, revised edition of the score from the Ricordi publishing house, which became the foundation for this recording. The main roles are performed by Albanian soprano Ermonela Jaho and Armenian tenor Arsen Soghomonyan, with the London Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Sir Mark Elder. Tracklist: 1.
