Description
The Midwife from Auschwitz is a dramatic story inspired by the true fate of Stanisława Leszczyńska. This Polish midwife conducted thousands of births in the camp, during which no child or woman died. Another transport of prisoners arrives at the Auschwitz concentration camp. Among them is a midwife from Łódź, who begins working under inhumane conditions at her own request: without water, basic medical tools, and medicines. She conducts births on a stove covered with an old blanket. She risks her life many times by standing up against the orders of the ruthless Josef Mengele. She does everything to protect children from cruel experiments. She supports young mothers from whom their newborns have been violently taken and sent to the Reich. Or to death... In Auschwitz, Stanisława Leszczyńska was not just a midwife. She was a Mother. She was hope.
