The Who are releasing a new album, Who, after 13 years.
"The album consists of songs that were all written last year, except for two," Townshend explains about the record. "The album has no theme, no concept, and no story; it’s just a collection of songs that my brother Simon and I wrote as inspiration, a challenge, and an opportunity for Roger Daltrey to try out his newly revived voice. Roger and I are old men in every sense, so I tried to stay away from romance and nostalgia as much as possible. I didn’t want anyone to feel uncomfortable. But memories are fine. Some songs also refer to the alarming state of today’s world."
"I think we’ve recorded the best album since the release of Quadrophenia in 1973," Daltrey adds. "Pete is still a great lyricist."
