Sting & Shaggy: 44/876 - CD

Former singer of the legendary band The Police and one of the most successful solo artists, Sting, releases the album 44/876 together with Jamaican musician and singer Shaggy, filled with joy, melody, and uplifting music. The album was recorded in Jamaica and New York in collaboration with Robbie Shakespeare, who has accompanied Bob Marley among others, dancehall star Aidonia, one of the most prominent figures in the Jamaican scene Agent Sasco, and composers and lyricists Dwayne Shippy and Machine Gun Funk. The production was handled by Sting International (songs like Boombastic or It Wasn't Me) and Martin Kierszenbaum (Madonna/Lady Gaga). Jamaican rhythms were already felt in Sting's previous work with The Police as well as in his solo repertoire. Shaggy, hailing from Kingston, Jamaica, grew up in dancehall clubs scattered across Brooklyn and Manhattan. Their collaboration resulted in reggae-celebrating songs like Morning Is Coming and Don't Make Me Wait, which pays homage to the Caribbean rhythms that influenced both artists.
