Description
The Blue Album - the best-selling album by Meky Žbirka since the beginning of the millennium - was created in 2001. Twenty years later, on October 1, 2021, Universal will release its reissue on two CDs with an elaborate booklet and a vinyl with a new sound. The first CD contains the original tracklist of the album with remastered sound from Abbey Road Studios in London. The second bonus CD features live versions and mixes of selected songs, such as Milionkrát, Len zatvor oči (in both live and US versions), Mám rád, Sněhulák, and more. The album's launch will take place on October 21 at Meky's concert in Lucerna Music Bar. The creation of the multiplatinum album Blue Album was documented by director Šimon Šafránek in the documentary film Blue Album - The Making Of. It was produced by Czech Television, based on a script by Honza Vedral, with Martin Žiaran behind the camera. Meky Žbirka is a recent recipient of the second place award in the Singer category at the music poll Žebřík 2020, for which he attended the ceremonial event on September 3 at DEPO2015 in Plzeň. The film portrait MEKY by director Šimon Šafránek was also declared Film of the Year 2020. The success at Žebřík in August was preceded by the Soundtrack Festival Award for Lifetime Achievement, which Meky received during his concert at the Soundtrack Festival of Film Music and Multimedia.
