Build a model of the Messerschmitt Me 262, the very first jet fighter in combat! Manufactured in Germany, it entered service in 1944 as an interceptor. Bombing and reconnaissance versions were also created. German pilots called it Sturmvogel, while it was known as Turbo among the Allies. The late introduction of the aircraft meant it did not play a significant role during the war. The Messerschmitt Me 262 achieved 900 kills with the loss of 100 aircraft. This model is inspired by the aircraft displayed at the Deutsches Museum in Munich. It was piloted by Hans Guido Mutke, who reached Switzerland in the last days of the war, where he was interned. Several years later, the aircraft returned to Germany as a museum exhibit. The package contains 390 building bricks and 1 pilot figure.
