The album Completely Gray Little Man is released three years after its predecessor, the album Perseids. Three quarters of the album consists of original songs with lyrics from established authors, while the remaining quarter is filled with world standards with Czech lyrics – Miss Otis Regrets, St. James Infirmary, and Too Young. As a kind of bonus, Jan Spálený included the song Ocúny, a musical adaptation of a poem by Guillaume Apollinaire from Alcohols of Life. Jan Spálený's music doesn't have a 'golden jacket', but it is civil, authentic... The diverse songs are united by a sense of lived blues, which is why audiences have been attending Jan Spálený and ASPM concerts for four decades.
